Thinking sailing schools the anny way
In anny, everything that can be booked is a resource. For sailing schools, this means: boats, berths, and tours are each their own resources. Each resource gets at least one booking option that defines how and at what price it is booked. The central principle for boat rental: you group multiple boats of one type as child resources and activate Exclusive time slots. This way, a boat is blocked for other orders after the first booking and is not shared with other groups. The following features must be activated in the account settings under Features:
- Multiple availability with assignment: to create individual boats as child resources
- Communities: to create protected booking areas for members
- Subscriptions and memberships: to offer recurring memberships
- Payment processing & invoicing: to accept online payments and create invoices automatically
Step-by-step setup
1
Create boat resources
In the menu bar, open Resources and click +New in the top right. Create one resource per boat type (e.g. “Canoe” or “Sailboat 420 dinghy”).Then navigate to Resource → Availability → Child resource and create the individual boats (e.g. “Canoe 1”, “Canoe 2”). For each child resource, add the Available quantity according to the person capacity (e.g. 4 people per canoe). At the availability level, activate the Exclusive time slots toggle. This way, a boat is treated as fully booked for other orders after the first booking, and the group stays among themselves.
2
Define booking options
Go to the Booking option tab within the resource. Define:
- Duration: Fixed duration (e.g. 2-hour boat trip) or flexible (e.g. half a day).
- Price: Booking price per time unit.
- Booking type: Set the booking type to Complete. This setting is mandatory in combination with exclusive time slots.
- Min. booking quantity: Define how many spots must be booked at minimum (e.g. 1).
3
Set up communities
Under Communities, create a new community (e.g. “Sailing club members”). Assign to the community the resources that should only be visible and bookable for members.Members can be added in two ways:
- Manually: Invite individually by email address.
- Automated: Customers are automatically assigned to the right community when they take out a subscription plan.
4
Create subscription plans
Under Subscriptions, create a new subscription plan (e.g. “Annual membership” or “Season pass”). Define:
- Term and billing interval
- Price
- Associated community (so members automatically get access)
5
Set up invoicing
Navigate to the Account settings and set up your Stripe account under Payment processing & invoicing. After verification, customers can pay online directly and invoices are created automatically.

How do I map different boat types with multiple boats?

Yes. Customers can request, take out, or cancel their subscription plan on their own via the booking page. You define in the subscription settings which actions are possible.
Why is a boat shown as fully booked even though spots are still free?
Why is a boat shown as fully booked even though spots are still free?
This is expected behavior with exclusive time slots activated. The boat is exclusively reserved for an existing order. In the admin area, you still see the actual occupancy.
