With personalization you collect individual customer data per booking within an order. This way, each booked person receives their own ticket, their own email confirmation and a separate record in your CRM.
Available from Essential.

How does personalization work?

By default, only one customer record is collected for an order with several bookings. With personalization enabled, customers are prompted at checkout to assign each booking to a specific person. The basic principle:
  1. Customers add several bookings to the cart.
  2. At checkout, they assign each booking to a person (name, email, optionally address).
  3. Each assigned person receives their own email with their personal booking confirmation.
  4. The person who booked for everyone receives the overall order confirmation.
The collected person data is created as separate customer records in the CRM. If the same person is booked for again later or books themselves, all bookings are assigned correctly.
anny recognizes customers by their email address. If the same email is used for several bookings, anny treats it as one person and updates the name with the most recently entered personalization.

When do I use this?

  • You offer events or courses: parents book for their children, team leads for colleagues. Each person receives their own ticket.
  • You need individual data per booking: for check-in, certificates or personalized QR codes, a record per person is necessary.
  • You want to collect differing addresses: for company bookings, an individual address per person can be required.
  • Not suitable for: bookings where only one person ever books for themselves and no multiple bookings arise in the cart.

Relationship with other features

  • Check-In & Check-Out: personalized bookings create an individual QR code ticket per person for check-in.
  • Certificates: with personalization, the certificate is issued in the name of the actual participant, not the person who booked.
  • Participant management: extends personalization with additional rights and visibility for extra people.

FAQ

anny recognizes customers by their email address. If the same email is used for several personalizations, anny overwrites the stored name with the most recently entered one. Solution: use a unique email address per person.
You can use the pattern firstname.lastname@placeholder.anny.co. No emails are sent. The booking is then only viewable via the website or app under Bookings.

Yes. Each personalized person receives a separate customer record. Later bookings with the same email are assigned automatically.

Troubleshooting

Check whether the Personalization of bookings setting is enabled under FormsPersonalization in the affected booking option. The option only takes effect when several bookings are in the cart (or when “Require personalization of the first booking” is active).
Activate Require personalization. Without this option, personalization is optional and can be skipped at checkout.
Check whether a valid email address was entered. For addresses with @placeholder.anny.co, no email is sent (only viewable via website/app).
