Resources are the heart of anny. A resource can be anything you want to offer for booking that is only available in a limited quantity: rooms, equipment, workspaces, events, or consultations. In this guide, you set up a resource completely.
The apps Multiple availability of resources and Multiple availability with assignment (child resources) must be activated under Account → Apps & Integrations → anny Apps (switch Enable for your organization) before the respective availability types are available for selection.

Create and configure a resource

1

Create a resource

In the sidebar, open Catalog → Resources and click New above the table. In the dialog, enter a Name, choose a Category and optionally a Group, and save. The detail page of the new resource opens.
2

Fill in the general information

In the General Information tab, configure the basic data of your resource:
  1. Image: Upload an image in landscape format or choose one from the gallery.
  2. Name: Choose a meaningful name. With several resources, we recommend a recognizable label.
  3. URL: Adjust the URL ending so the link on the booking page is logical and consistent (e.g. https://anny.co/book/meeting-2-stairways-to-heaven).
  4. Category: Assign the resource to a category (e.g. meeting room, parking space, flex desk, workshop).
  5. Group: Optionally assign the resource to a group for internal management (e.g. department, division).
  6. Description: Add a description with the toolbar. You can insert headings, lists, images, videos, and tables. Using the @ sign, you link directly to other resources, subscription plans, or booking packages.
  7. Files: Optionally upload an image or video that can be viewed and downloaded on the resource page.
  8. Properties: Create filterable properties (checkbox, number, or text) that customers can filter by on the booking page.
  9. Location: Specify the location as an address, online, or no location.
3

Choose the availability type

Under the Availability tab, you define how often the resource can be booked at the same time:
Create rooms and sports fields as standalone resources, not as child resources. In the organization-wide calendar (Bookings → Calendar), child resources are aggregated: you see occupancy counts for the parent resource, not the individual spots side by side. You only see the child-resource calendar after expanding the parent (Show child resources) or opening its detail page. Child resources are the right model for workspaces, parking spaces, seats, or lockers.
4

Define a schedule

Under Availability, enter your regular availabilities or available slots. Individual weekdays can be added multiple times, for example to represent a lunch break.
The times on the resource override those of the booking option. They must be identical to or larger than those of the booking option.
5

Test the resource live

Check how your resource looks on the booking page: in the resources table, click the three dots in the resource’s row and select Booking page. On the detail page, you find the same action via the three dots in the page header. The resource opens in the booking view, even if it is not yet set to live.
6

Set the resource to live

Set the resource to Live for booking in the Status column of the resources table or in the status select in the resource’s page header so it becomes visible and bookable on the booking page. Alternatively, choose Set live via the three dots in the row. Details on all statuses: Resource status.
Images for resources must be uploaded in landscape format (optimal: 968 x 544 pixels). Images uploaded in portrait format are rotated automatically. For banners, use 1920 x 1080 pixels; for logos, 400 x 400 pixels.

Check the result

Your resource is configured correctly when it is shown with the status Live for booking in the resources table and is visible on the booking page. Check there whether the image, description, properties, and availabilities are displayed correctly.

FAQ

A resource is the parent bookable object (e.g. an office with several workspaces). Child resources are the specific individual options within this resource (e.g. desk 1, desk 2, desk 3). When booking, customers choose a specific child resource or are assigned one automatically. For tables that should belong exclusively to one group, combine child resources with Exclusive Time Slots.
Whenever you want to see and filter the occupancy of each room or field in the organization-wide calendar. Child resources only appear there as a total on the parent resource. Therefore: meeting rooms, seminar rooms, and sports fields each as their own resource with Singly available. Child resources fit interchangeable units such as desks, parking spaces, seats, or lockers.
Per booking option, you can set the booking type:
  • Default: A booking blocks the resource for the period. For multiply available resources, one capacity unit is blocked per booking.
  • Transparent: Bookings do not block the resource. This allows an unlimited number of bookings for the same period.
  • Multiple: A single booking blocks the set number of capacity units (e.g. for group tickets). Only for multiply available resources.
  • Full: A booking blocks the entire capacity of the resource (e.g. to book a resource with child resources as a whole).
Open the resource, click the three dots in the page header, select Translate, and choose the desired target language. For child resources, you can also store separate translations for the names.
The app must be activated first: open Account → Apps & Integrations → anny Apps, choose Multiple availability with assignment, and turn on the switch Enable for your organization. The child resources type then becomes available in the Availability tab.

Troubleshooting

For resources, only images in landscape format can be uploaded. Images in portrait format are rotated automatically. Upload the image again in landscape format.
The file size is probably too large. Reduce the file size and try again.
A pixelated image occurs when the resolution is too low. Use at least 968 x 544 pixels for resource images. anny is responsive: in smaller views, the outer areas of the image can be cropped. Therefore always position important content in the center.
