With global blockers, you lock several or all of the resources in your account for a specific period at once. This is especially useful for public holidays, company closures, or maintenance windows when no bookings should be possible.

Create a global blocker

1

Open account settings

Click your avatar (top right) and select Account settings. Open the Global blockers section.
2

Create a blocker

Click Create global blocker and give it a title (for example “Company closure” or “Maintenance”).
3

Set the period

Choose a start and end date for the blocker.
4

Choose the target group

Define which resources should be locked:
  • All resources: Locks every resource in the account, including ones created in the future.
  • Specific groups: Locks only resources in the selected groups.
  • Specific categories: Locks only resources in certain categories (for example meeting rooms, parking spaces).
5

Save

Click Save. The blocker becomes active immediately and all affected resources appear as blocked in the calendar.
Only use global blockers when you are sure you want to block the chosen resources for that time. With the “All resources” option, resources created in the future are automatically locked too.

Set up a holiday blocker

With holiday blockers, anny automatically creates blockers for public holidays.
1

Open holiday blockers

Go to avatar (top right) > Account settings > Global blockers and open the Holiday blockers section.
2

Choose the state and period

Choose the state you want and the period for which holidays should be created (for example 7 days, 30 days, or the whole year).
3

Save

Click Save. anny automatically creates blockers for all public holidays in the chosen period.

Allow bookings across a blocker

If bookings before and after a blocker should still be possible, you can enable this per booking option.
1

Open the booking option

Open the relevant resource and go to the Booking option tab.
2

Open the advanced settings

Click Edit and open the Advanced settings.
3

Enable the feature

Enable the option Allow booking across a blocker. Bookings can now be created across the blocker.
This setting is helpful when, for example, a room should be booked as a multi-day booking across a holiday weekend without the holiday preventing the booking.

Check the result

Open the calendar in the admin area. Affected resources show the global blocker as a dashed, gray entry across the chosen period. On the booking page, the locked periods are no longer bookable for customers.

FAQ

A normal blocker is created directly in the calendar by clicking and dragging and locks only a single resource. A global blocker is created in the account settings and can lock several or all resources at once.
Yes, if you choose “All resources” as the target group. When you select specific groups or categories, only the resources assigned to that group or category at the time of the blocker are locked.
Yes, you can create several holiday blockers with different states. Each holiday blocker is configured separately.
Go to avatar (top right) > Account settings > Global blockers. There you see all active blockers and can delete them individually. Alternatively, single blockers can be removed directly in the calendar.

Troubleshooting

Check whether the blocker was saved correctly by reopening it in the account settings. If the target group is set to “no restriction”, edit the blocker and select the group again.
Check whether the “Allow booking across a blocker” setting is enabled on the affected booking option. If it is, deactivate this option in the advanced settings of the booking option.
Make sure you set the calendar to the correct period. Holiday blockers are only created for the chosen period (for example 30 days). If the holiday falls outside this period, extend the setting to “whole year”.
