Your booking page is the first point of contact for your customers. With the right settings, you decide which content is visible first, how the calendar is displayed, and which resources are shown. By the end of this guide, you will have configured the most important layout settings for your booking page. This takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
Understanding the Layout in the anny Context
Before adjusting the settings, it helps to clearly distinguish between two areas in anny:
Admin area: This is where you configure your account, your resources, and your booking page. Only people with admin rights have access.
Booking page: This is the public page where your customers make bookings. It reflects what you have set up in the admin area.
Two terms are especially important for this guide:
Resources: Bookable units such as courses, meeting rooms, or desks.
Services: Purchasable access options such as tickets, hour passes, or drop-ins.
The default tab determines what visitors see first when they open your booking page. The calendar shows availability and appointments in different views.
What You Will Have Set Up
The default tab of your booking page defined
The default calendar view selected
The resources displayed in the calendar defined
Prerequisites
You have admin rights in your anny account (role: Super-Admin or Admin)
Your resources and services are already created
The status of your resources is set to Live for booking or Live for viewing
Your booking page is live (you activate this in the account settings via the toggle in the top right)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Navigate to the Settings
Click on your Avatar in the top right of the admin area.
Select Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
Navigate to the Settings tab.
Step 2: Set the Default Tab of the Booking Page
For the Default Tab on Booking Page option, you choose what visitors see first when they open your booking page. You have four options:
Resource: Shows bookable units such as courses or open spaces.
Service: Shows purchasable access options such as tickets, hour passes, or drop-ins.
Subscription: Shows available subscription models.
Booking package: Shows combined booking offers.
Open the dropdown menu at Default Tab on Booking Page.
Select the tab that is most relevant for your customers.
Save the setting.
Important: This selection only affects the initial view. Visitors can switch between tabs themselves at any time.
Step 3: Set the Default Calendar View
In the same area, you will find the Default Calendar View option. It determines which view the calendar on your booking page opens in by default. You have four views to choose from:
Day: Hourly detail view of a single day. Suitable when many bookings take place per day.
Week: Overview of seven days. Good for offers with a regular weekly rhythm.
Month: Overview of the entire month. Ideal for quick orientation and advance planning.
Board: Chronological list of all appointments one below the other, without a time axis. Each booking is displayed in full, regardless of its duration. Particularly suitable as a course overview.
Open the dropdown menu at Default Calendar View.
Select the view that suits your offering.
Save the setting.
Tip: The board view works especially well if you offer many courses or events. It can also be used as an embedded calendar on your own website. More on this: Embed Your Booking Page on Your Website
Step 4: Define Resources in the Calendar
In the Show Resources in Calendar area, you define which resources are visible in the calendar on your booking page.
You have two options:
Show all resources: All existing resources are displayed in the calendar without restriction.
Show selected resources: You manually select from a list which resources should be visible.
Select the desired option.
If you select Selected resources, a list of your resources opens.
Check the resources that should appear in the calendar.
Save the setting.
How the Views Behave in Detail
Week view
Week view
Bookings with a duration of 7 hours or more are displayed at the top of the calendar as all-day events. This keeps the hourly grid clear.
When there are many simultaneous bookings, a maximum of 2 parallel bookings are displayed side by side. Additional bookings are accessible via +X.
Up to 30 resources can be displayed in the calendar at the same time.
Board view
Board view
Appointments appear as a chronological list, without a time grid.
Each booking is displayed in full, regardless of how long it lasts.
Particularly clear when there are many courses or events with varying durations.
Note: This setting applies to the default view of the booking page. Visitors can also adjust the calendar individually on the booking page using filters. These filters are saved per person and restored on their next visit.
Step 5: Check Your Booking Page
Once you have made all the settings, you can view your public booking page. Click on Booking Page in the bottom left of the admin area. A new tab opens showing the booking page exactly as your customers see it.
FAQ
Can I change the default tab at any time?
Yes, you can adjust the setting at any time in the admin area under Avatar > Account Settings > Settings. The change is immediately visible on the booking page.
What happens if I select "Show all resources" and add new resources later?
New resources appear in the calendar automatically as soon as they are created. You do not need to adjust the setting again.
Can my customers switch the calendar view themselves?
Yes. The default calendar view is only the preset. Visitors can switch between Day, Week, Board, and Month on the booking page at any time.
Why do different visitors see different resources in the calendar?
Visitors can adjust the calendar individually using filters. These filters are saved per person, which is why the view can differ from person to person.
Troubleshooting
"Nothing is displayed on my booking page."
First check whether your booking page is active. Also check the status of your resources: they must be set to Live for booking or Live for viewing to appear on the booking page. Resources with any other status will not be shown.
"I cannot see all parallel bookings in the calendar."
This is the expected behaviour. In the week view, a maximum of 2 parallel bookings are displayed at the same time. Additional bookings are accessible via +X. This keeps the calendar readable even when there is high demand.
"A booking is shown as all-day even though it has a specific time."
Bookings with a duration of 7 hours or more are automatically grouped at the top of the week view as all-day events. This is not an error but a deliberate display decision to improve clarity.
"My colleague sees different resources in the calendar than I do."
Filters and views are saved individually per user. Each person can adjust the calendar on the booking page themselves. The admin-side setting in the account settings only defines the default view.
"A resource I selected in the settings does not appear in the calendar."
Check whether the resource is active and available for the selected time period.
