tapirx is a provider of wireless E-Ink room displays with Wi-Fi connectivity. anny is integrated directly into tapirx: bookings appear automatically on the display, without a detour through an external calendar. With tapirx, you can in anny:
  • Show bookings automatically on wireless E-Ink displays outside the room
  • Connect displays to anny resources directly via a 6-digit code
  • Show a QR code on the display that takes customers straight to the booking page
The integration is especially handy for companies that want to mount displays on the wall without power or wiring, and prefer a direct anny connection without a calendar bridge.

Typical use cases

How the tapirx connection works

The integration runs directly between tapirx and anny: the tapirx display communicates over Wi-Fi with the tapirx server, which retrieves the booking data from anny. Setup happens mainly in the tapirx Client Admin. In anny, the display is connected via a 6-digit pairing code.

Connect tapirx

Prerequisites

Before you connect tapirx with anny, make sure you have the following:
  • A tapirx account with access to the tapirx Client Admin
  • At least one tapirx E-Ink display connected via Wi-Fi
  • The Display Boards & Room Displays feature activated in anny
  • The resource you want to show must be created and online in anny

Set up the connection

Once the connection is active, the tapirx display automatically shows the bookings of the linked resource.
All settings such as the update interval or display design are made in the tapirx Client Admin, not in anny.

Connect tapirx devices to Wi-Fi

The device only works on 2.4 GHz networks. Make sure your Wi-Fi broadcasts on this frequency.

Settings & options

Limitations

The tapirx integration does not support:
  • Real-time updates: data is retrieved every 5 to 30 minutes, depending on the setting
  • Booking directly on the display (no touchscreen): booking happens via the QR code on a smartphone
  • Ad-hoc bookings or guest mode like the anny Display App
  • Sleep Mode or brightness control (E-Ink needs no power for the display)

FAQ

Battery life depends on the update interval and the Wi-Fi distance. At a 30-minute interval: estimated up to 2 years. At 5 minutes, significantly shorter. An empty battery is shown on the display and reported by email.
There is a small hole next to the USB-C port on the underside. Insert a needle and hold the button for 5 seconds.

Yes, tapirx also supports Outlook and Google Calendar as a data source. For the direct anny integration, however, no calendar is needed.

Troubleshooting

The Wi-Fi connection could not be established. Check whether the network broadcasts on 2.4 GHz and whether the network name and password are correct. Try again via http://192.168.4.1.
In the tapirx Client Admin, check whether the pairing with anny was successful (Device → Status). Make sure the resource is online in anny and the “Display Boards & Room Displays” feature is activated. Note: it can take up to 30 minutes for new bookings to appear.
The QR code link must be maintained manually in the tapirx Client Admin. Under Device Settings, check whether the correct booking link from anny (ResourceBooking PageBooking Link) is stored.
