With anny, end users can edit their bookings themselves, provided admins activate this feature. This allows them not only to adjust add-ons and additional bookings, but also to change the date, time, and optionally the booked child resource, such as a different workspace or desk.
This reduces manual effort for teams, prevents unnecessary cancellations, and improves the booking experience for customers.
What does booking editing mean in anny?
If the feature is activated, end users can edit their existing booking in the My Bookings section. Depending on the configuration set by admins, they can:
change the date and time of their booking
adjust add-ons or additional bookings
optionally switch to another suitable child resource, e.g. a different desk
Important: Booking editing for end users is disabled by default and must be actively enabled by admins.
Where can you find this feature?
In the admin area
Admins control booking editing via the settings of the respective resource or booking logic. There they can define:
whether end users are allowed to edit their bookings
how close to the booking time changes are allowed
whether switching child resources should also be possible
For end users
End users only see the Edit option in the My Bookings section if the feature is enabled for their booking.
How to set up booking editing
To activate booking editing, open the relevant resource in the admin area:
Open the booking option and navigate to the Change & Cancellation tab.
Enable the editing options you want to allow:
Subsequent editing of start and end date: Allow booking edits for all bookings or only for bookings that lie in the future
Subsequent editing of child resources: If end users are allowed to switch between available child resources
Subsequent editing of service options: If end users are allowed to edit additional options after the booking
Set the rescheduling deadline. Define until when changes are allowed before the appointment, for example up to 24 hours before the start.
Save the settings.
Then test on the booking page under My Bookings whether the option is visible as intended.
What rules apply to changes?
When editing bookings, anny automatically considers the stored booking logic.
Lead times are taken into account
If add-ons or services have lead times, these are also taken into account when changes are made. This means that a booking can only be moved to a new appointment if the respective lead time is observed.
Earliest possible new appointment
The earliest new appointment results from the following logic:
earliest new date = MIN(old appointment, today + lead time)
This ensures that changes can only be made to permitted new time slots.
The editing deadline must be observed
Bookings can only be edited if they are still within the editing deadline defined by admins. If the deadline has already passed, editing will no longer be offered.
Child resource changes only if enabled
Changing the child resource is only possible if:
admins have activated this option
suitable child resources are available for the desired period
If no suitable child resources are available, the booking may still be changed in terms of time, but not moved to another child resource.
Paid bookings
Price changes are processed automatically when a booking is edited.
Depending on the change, this may result in:
an additional payment being required
a refund being triggered
This works automatically, without admins having to use a manual workaround.
Examples:
A booking is extended and therefore costs more → additional payment
A booking is changed to a cheaper option → refund

Troubleshooting
“I can no longer edit my booking.”
Check whether the editing deadline has already passed, or whether the required lead time is observed for the desired new appointment.
“I cannot select another desk.”
Check whether changing child resources has been enabled, or whether suitable child resources are available during the desired period
“The price of my booking has changed.”
This is expected behavior if the scope of services, the period, or the resource changes as a result of the update. anny processes the price change automatically.
