Activate your AI assistant for phone and chat to handle inquiries and bookings automatically around the clock.

anny AI is your AI-powered assistant that works for you both by phone and via chat. It answers frequently asked questions, makes bookings, manages existing appointments, and transfers calls to your team when needed. This article shows you how to activate anny AI and complete the first steps for phone and website chat.


Requirements

• You are using anny on at least the Essential Plan.

• You have access to the account settings in the anny admin area.

• Additional costs apply for anny AI. Billing is calculated per minute based on the selected anny AI package.


How to set up anny AI

  1. Open the anny admin area and navigate to the account settings.

  2. Switch to the anny AI tab.

  3. Read the agreement and confirm it.

  4. Click on Set up now.

  5. After activation, your personal anny AI phone number will be displayed immediately. Your AI assistant is reachable under this number from now on.

Important: The use of anny AI is billed separately from your existing anny subscription. Upon activation, the price is calculated proportionally to the current usage period.


What Happens After Activation?

  • You receive your own phone number (currently a Cologne area code). Your assistant is directly reachable under this number.

  • The assistant is already active with a default configuration – it greets callers, identifies itself as AI, and can provide information about your offerings.

  • Your website is automatically scanned. As a result, anny AI already knows the information available on your website.

  • After each conversation, you receive an email summary with a direct link to the conversation.

Tip: We recommend keeping your existing phone number for external use and using the anny AI number internally for call forwarding. This way, your customers' contact details remain unchanged.


Set up anny AI Chat

The AI chat draws on the same knowledge base as the phone assistant but offers visual and interactive features directly on your booking page or your own website.

To set up the chat widget, follow these steps:

  1. Enable the toggle Show AI chat on booking page.

  2. Enter the text for the greeting bubble (e.g., "Hi, I'm your booking assistant."). This floats above the chat launcher and immediately draws customers' attention to the chat.

  3. Define a start message that is displayed first in the chat (e.g., "Hello, do you have a question or would you like to make a booking?").

    Note: This custom start message only applies to the widget on your own website. On the default anny booking page, the start message is fixed and cannot be edited.

  4. Optional: Enable the toggle Prompt visitors to sign in. This is useful if you use communities and want users to be asked whether they would like to log in or continue as a guest when they open the chat.

  5. Configure the cookie and privacy settings:

    • Privacy consent: By default, consent is requested before the chat is used. You can remove this prompt from the widget, provided you have included the notices regarding the use of anny in your own privacy policy and cookie banner.

    • Disable tracking: To completely turn off conversation tracking, enable the option Do not accept visitor ID.

  6. Embed the AI chat on your website by adding the script and the component as code in your website builder.

Important: The chat and the AI phone assistant both draw on the same knowledge base and the same behavior rules, so they behave identically. However, the start message specified at agents.anny.co is intended exclusively for the phone assistant and the agents.

  • Set up employees for transfers: Enable anny AI to forward calls to your team.


How Does Billing Work?

  • You choose an anny AI package with a monthly minute allowance.

  • Billing is calculated to the second – only conversations that actually take place are charged.

  • Aborted calls (without connection) do not count.

  • Unused allowance expires at the end of the month and is not refunded.

  • If you exceed your allowance, additional minutes are charged.

  • You can view your current usage at any time in the anny AI area.


Analysis and Summaries

  • After each successful conversation, you receive an email with a summary and a direct link to the complete conversation. If a booking was created, it will also be linked in the email.

  • In the assistant interface, you will find a dashboard with information about the total duration of calls, the success rate, and the various call types.

  • For each individual call, you can view the transcript, a summary, and – if recording is enabled – the audio recording.

  • Recordings are retained for 7 days by default and then automatically deleted.

Note: You can disable the email notification after completed phone calls in your profile settings in the admin area under Notifications.
