With the new resource status system in anny, you can now clearly define whether a resource is visible or bookable. Only bookable resources are counted towards your billing. This allows you to create resources such as rooms or trainers just for display – free of charge and without affecting your subscription plan.

Quick Overview: Resource Status

anny introduces an extended status system for resources. The main goal:
Separate visibility, bookability, and billing for more flexibility and transparency.

The biggest benefit: You can create resources at no cost as long as they’re not bookable.
Perfect for informational or internal purposes – e.g. trainer profiles, rooms or setup resources.

New Status Options for Resources

Each resource now has a status dropdown with 5 selectable options:

  • Live for booking

  • Live for display (free)

  • Internal for booking

  • Internal for management (free)

  • Archived (free)

Renamed statuses:

  • Active” is now called Live

  • Inactive” is now called Internal

New Option in the Service Settings

Inside the Service tab of a resource, you’ll now find a new toggle:

Enable booking: [✔]

The final behavior of a resource depends on the combination of:

  • Resource status (Live / Internal)

  • Booking enabled (Yes / No)

Typical Use Cases

Here are some example scenarios where this status system is especially useful:

1. Trainers & Rooms for display only

  • Status: Live for display

  • Booking: Disabled

🟢 Visible to users, e.g. in a course or event overview
🔴 Not bookable
💸 Free – not counted in billing

2. Booking courses with background info

  • Course resource: Live for booking

  • Room & Trainer: Live for display

✅ Users see all details (location, trainer, course)
🔒 Only the course can be booked
💰 Only the course counts towards billing

3. Internal setup or test resources

  • Status: Internal for management

  • Booking: Disabled

👩‍💼 Only admins can view and edit the resource
🧪 Ideal for preparation or testing
💸 Free

Why this change?

Previously, anny offered only three statuses: Active, Inactive, and Archived.
This often resulted in unnecessary billing for resources that were only used for setup or display purposes.

With the new status logic, you can now:

  • Create resources for display only

  • Manage internal resources without publishing them

  • Optimize billing while keeping your setup informative and complete

Tip: Review and adjust your resource status

To make the most of the new status system:

  1. Open the resource in the admin interface

  2. Select the appropriate status from the dropdown

  3. Go to the Services tab and check if booking is enabled

  4. Save ✅
