UniFi Door Access is a high-end, on-premise solution mainly suited for people with experience in network management or for those already using UniFi as an existing network/access system.
Set Up
In the organization settings, click the Integrations tab and select UniFi.
Create an external access to the UniFi network (see UniFi blog post) and enter the Host URL for authentication in the anny admin area.
Enter the API token in the anny admin area. You can find it in the UniFi admin area under Access > Settings > Control Plane.
Configuring smart lock access
Once the authentication process is completed, you can set up access. There are two options:
Access via bookings
Click Add to create a new rule.
Select the resource that should grant access to the lock when it is booked.
Select the corresponding lock(s) to which access should be granted.
Define the time window in which the customer has access to the lock before and after the booking.
If a PIN field is available, it can be configured here.
Pro tip: Use the three dots on the right to edit or delete existing connections.
Access via communities
Click Add to create a new rule.
Select the community whose members should have access to one or more locks.
Select the corresponding lock(s) to which access should be granted.
Pro tip: It is also possible to connect multiple locks to one resource, or vice versa.
Smart lock access in the anny admin area
In the booking details view, both active and inactive access entries created by a booking can be displayed.
By clicking on a specific access entry, you can view:
status
access period
door lock
creation date
PIN code (if available)
You can also copy the access URL (if available).
Pro tip: Clicking the three dots lets you open the access in the locking system’s admin area and also jump to the integration settings in anny.
Booking process
How does the integration work? What does the booking process look like? There are three ways access can be provided after booking the resource in anny:
Access for users with a UniFi account
If a user who has an account stored in the UniFi admin area makes a booking, access is handled via the UniFi app and that account. The booking confirmation shows the room and the account email address. Depending on the settings, the user may also receive an additional email from UniFi.
Note: Accounts are automatically matched via the email addresses in anny and UniFi.
Access via guest access
If no UniFi user can be found for the email address used in the anny booking, a PIN code is generated for the booking. It can be found in the anny app, in the browser, and in the booking confirmation, and can be entered at the door keypad.
Remote open
Regardless of whether the user has an account or uses guest access, we additionally offer the best integration via the remote open function. It allows customers to open door locks with a single tap directly from the booking view in the anny app or on the website.
For remote opening via a community (required for opening via the website), the setting must be enabled in the community permissions of the smart lock integration.
Important: Access for UniFi user accounts (NOT guest access) is created just-in-time. The integration creates an “always-access” policy for each door linked in the rules—i.e., a policy that allows the door to be opened at any time.
During the booking period, the user is added to this policy and removed again at the end of the access period defined in anny.
This ensures the user only has access to this door during the booking period.
Please do not delete these policies.
