# URL Display Boards

> Show your resources' occupancy in real time on any browser-capable device, no app install needed.

With URL display boards, you present current and upcoming bookings as a live overview on any browser-capable device. Ideal for entrance areas, floor signposts, or info screens where employees and visitors see room occupancy at a glance.

## How do URL display boards work?

A URL display board is a browser-based page that you create in the admin area under **Displays**. You link resources as widgets, adjust colors and privacy options, and receive a link. You open this link on a smart TV, tablet, or monitor in kiosk mode. The display updates in real time and, with several resources, automatically pages on every 10 seconds.

The basic flow:

## When do I use this?

* **You want to show an overview of all rooms in the entrance area**: Visitors and employees immediately see which room is free or occupied.
* **You need a signpost per floor or area**: Create a separate display board per floor with the respective resources.
* **Your device has no app store (for example a smart TV, an older tablet)**: URL display boards run in any browser, without installation.
* **Not suitable for**: Interactive room displays with ad-hoc booking, sleep mode, or anny Pass. Use the [anny Display App](/en/display-app) for those.

## Relationship with other features

* **Check-in & check-out**: On touch-capable devices, users can book and check in directly via the "book now" button.
* **Communities**: The display board shows all linked resources regardless of community permissions. Booking via the "book now" button, however, requires a valid login.

On the booking page, users see the full booking process when they book via "book now" on the display board.

  You can create any number of display boards and add resources as a widget on several boards at the same time. This way you can create, for example, an overall overview for the entrance and separate floor displays.

    On any device with internet access and a browser: smart TVs, iPads, Android tablets, monitors with a connected PC or Raspberry Pi.

  <Accordion title="How do I activate kiosk mode on iOS?">
    Go to **Settings** → **General** → **Accessibility** → **Guided Access** and activate the feature. Set a passcode. Then open the display board in the browser and start Guided Access by triple-clicking the side button.

  <Accordion title="Can users book directly via the display board?">
    Yes, if the device has a touch function. Via the "book now" button, users reach the booking process. For paid bookings or where login is required, they are redirected to the booking page.

    The URL display board is purely browser-based, without installation. The Display App additionally offers sleep mode, ad-hoc bookings, anny Pass, NFC, and guest mode as native features.

## Troubleshooting

    Check whether at least one resource is added under **Widgets**. Make sure the **Display boards & room displays** feature is activated.

  <Accordion title="The display does not page on automatically">
    Automatic pagination only kicks in once there are more resources than fit on one page. Check the screen size: on larger displays, more widgets fit on one page.

  <Accordion title="Design changes are not shown">
    Changes to colors and settings are transmitted in real time. Reload the page in the browser once (hard refresh) if the device does not show the change immediately.

> * Feature name in account settings: "Display boards & room displays" (identical to the Display App)
> * UI path: **Displays** → **+New** (visible after feature activation)
> * No pairing needed (distinction from the Display App)
> * The link works on any browser-capable device
> * Pagination: pages on automatically every 10 seconds when there are multiple pages
> * Touch: "book now" button only relevant on touch devices
> * Anonymization: booking descriptions can be hidden
> * Order: controllable via drag and drop in the admin
