# Connect TikTok Ads with anny

> Use the TikTok pixel to measure which campaigns lead to bookings in anny.

[TikTok Ads](https://ads.tiktok.com) is TikTok's advertising platform. Using the TikTok pixel and the server-side conversion interface, you measure which of your campaigns actually lead to bookings. For this, anny loads the TikTok pixel on your booking pages and reports the matching events to TikTok.

With TikTok Ads in anny, you can:

* Report page views of your booking pages and completed bookings as conversions to TikTok
* Track the success of your TikTok campaigns all the way to the completed booking
* Additionally report bookings server-side, even when customers do not allow cookies

The integration is useful when you advertise on TikTok and want to know which ads translate into real bookings and revenue.

<Info>
  The TikTok Ads integration belongs to the **Conversion Tracking** feature. If it is not included in your plan, TikTok Ads appears as unavailable in the integrations overview. The same feature also enables Google Ads, Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads.

## Typical use cases

| Use case                            | Description                                                                                                                                                                                          |
| :---------------------------------- | :--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Measure campaign success | **In the TikTok Events Manager, you see which ads lead to bookings.** anny reports completed bookings as a conversion including the booking value, so you can steer your ad spend in a targeted way. |
| Capture conversions without cookies | **Even without cookie consent, you attribute bookings to your campaigns.** If customers come via a TikTok ad, anny reports the completion server-side, independently of the cookie banner. |
| Use several platforms in parallel | **You measure TikTok, Google, Meta and LinkedIn at the same time.** anny serves all active platforms via the same events, without you having to adjust your booking pages. |

## How the TikTok Ads connection works

The integration consists of two paths that you can use separately:

* **TikTok pixel:** anny loads the TikTok pixel script in your customers' browsers on the booking pages hosted by anny and reports events there. For this, you enter your **Pixel ID** in the **TikTok Pixel** panel.
* **Offline conversion API:** anny additionally reports completed bookings directly from the server to TikTok, without a browser and without cookies. For this, you store an **Access token** in the **Offline conversion API** panel.

Only the **Pixel ID** is required. The **Access token** is optional and enables the server-side path. anny uses it to authenticate with TikTok and send events, but receives no data back. There is no audience, campaign or budget management in anny.

The pixel loads on all public pages hosted by anny: booking page, resource, service, subscription and booking package page, as well as checkout and confirmation. No pixel loads in the admin area. anny reports four events:

| Event | When it is reported | Data sent along |
| :----------------- | :----------------------------- | :----------------------------------- |
| `ViewContent`      | Customers open a booking page  | –                                    |
| `AddToCart` | A booking is added to the cart | Net amount, currency, booking number |
| `InitiateCheckout` | The checkout is opened         | –                                    |
| `CompletePayment`  | A booking is completed         | Net amount, currency, booking number |

anny transfers no names, email addresses, phone numbers or booking details. The pixel itself additionally collects the usual browser data such as IP address, browser identifier, page URL and TikTok cookies.

The pixel only loads when customers accept **Marketing** in the cookie banner of the booking page. Before that, nothing happens. The **Marketing** option only appears when a tracking integration is active. If a person withdraws their consent, anny no longer sends any further events for them.

The server-side path works independently of cookies: anny reports an offline conversion when a person came to the booking page via a TikTok ad with a click parameter, and attributes completions to that campaign within 14 days. If you deactivate the integration, anny removes the **Pixel ID** immediately from all booking pages and reports no further events.

## Connect TikTok Ads

### Requirements

Before you connect TikTok Ads, make sure you have the following:

* Admin rights in your anny account and the **Conversion Tracking** feature in your plan
* A TikTok Ads account with a created pixel and its **Pixel ID** (TikTok Events Manager → Data sources → select)
* Optional for server-side conversions: an **Access token** from the TikTok Events Manager (data source → Settings → generate access token)

### Set up the connection

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enter the Pixel ID">
    From the menu bar, open **Integrations** and go to **TikTok Ads**. In the **TikTok Pixel** panel, enter your **Pixel ID**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Optional: store the Offline conversion API">
    If you also want to report bookings server-side, add your **Access token** in the **Offline conversion API** panel and click **Authorize**. You can skip this step if you only use the pixel.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Activate">
    Activate the integration via the **toggle** in the top right. Only then does anny pass the **Pixel ID** to your booking pages.
  </Step>
</Steps>

As soon as the integration is active, anny loads the TikTok pixel after marketing consent on your booking pages and reports the events to TikTok. You see the results in the TikTok Events Manager.

<Tip>
  The **Pixel ID** may only contain letters, digits and the characters `_ : / - + = .`. anny automatically removes leading and trailing spaces. If the ID contains other characters, activation aborts with an error message.
</Tip>

## Limitations

The TikTok Ads integration does not support:

* **Embedded booking page (widget):** In an embedded widget, anny does not show a cookie banner and therefore does not load a TikTok pixel. Instead, anny passes the events to the surrounding website, where its own tag manager can process them. The server-side path via the **Offline conversion API** works without restriction in the widget.
* **Multiple pixels per account:** anny stores one **Pixel ID** per account. If you create another TikTok Ads integration, the most recently activated configuration applies.
* **Return channel:** TikTok sends no data to anny. You continue to manage audiences, campaigns and budgets in the TikTok Ads Manager.
* **Change while active:** The **Pixel ID** can only be changed while the integration is deactivated.

## Disconnect

<Warning>
  If you deactivate the integration via the **toggle**, anny removes the TikTok pixel immediately from all booking pages and reports no further events, neither from the browser nor from the server. When you delete, anny additionally removes the stored **Pixel ID** and the **Access token**. Data already captured in TikTok remains there, your bookings are not affected.
</Warning>

You can do both under **Integrations**: deactivate via the **toggle** in the top right, delete via the **three dots** → **Delete**.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Are my booking pages tracked even without cookie consent?">
    The pixel only loads when customers accept **Marketing** in the cookie banner. Without consent, anny fires no pixel events. The server-side path via the **Offline conversion API**, on the other hand, works even without cookie consent, provided the person came via a TikTok ad.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I have to store an access token?">
    No. For tracking in the browser, the **Pixel ID** is enough. The **Access token** is only needed if you also want to report bookings server-side, for example for customers without cookie consent or in an embedded widget.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I use TikTok Ads and other platforms at the same time?">
    Yes. Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and TikTok Ads can be active in parallel and are served via the same events. There is one shared marketing consent in the cookie banner, not one per platform.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How do I change the Pixel ID?">
    Deactivate the integration first via the **toggle**, because as long as it is active, the **Pixel ID** is locked. Then enter the new **Pixel ID** and reactivate the integration.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Where do I see whether tracking works?">
    You see the reported events and conversions in the TikTok Events Manager. In anny, the **activation history** under the integration only logs when it was activated or deactivated, not the individual events.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="I cannot change the Pixel ID">
    The integration is still active. As long as it is running, the **Pixel ID** is locked. Deactivate the integration first via the **toggle**, then change the ID and reactivate it.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Activation aborts with an error message">
    The **Pixel ID** probably contains disallowed characters. Only letters, digits and the characters `_ : / - + = .` are allowed. In particular, remove spaces in the middle of the ID and activate again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="TikTok Ads does not appear in the integrations overview">
    The integration is tied to the **Conversion Tracking** feature. If it is not included in your plan, TikTok Ads does not appear. Check your plan or contact anny support.
  </Accordion>

> Important information for agents:
>
> **Scope:** TikTok Ads is a conversion tracking integration, NOT a data sync and NOT a smart lock. There is no return channel from TikTok to anny and no audience, campaign or budget management in anny. Two separate paths: TikTok pixel (browser-side) and Offline conversion API (server-side); both usable independently, only the Pixel ID is required.
>
> **UI paths:** Menu bar → **Integrations** → **TikTok Ads**. **TikTok Pixel** panel with field **Pixel ID**; **Offline conversion API** panel with field **Access token** and button **Authorize**. Action **Test connection** and **Delete** via the three dots; activate/deactivate via the toggle in the top right. The **activation history** only logs activation/deactivation, not individual events. Labels are in English in the German interface ("Pixel ID", "Access token", "Offline conversion API").
>
> **Events & pages:** The pixel loads on all public anny pages (booking page, resource, service, subscription, booking package, checkout, confirmation), not in the admin. Events: `ViewContent` (page view), `AddToCart` (cart), `InitiateCheckout` (checkout opened), `CompletePayment` (completion). `AddToCart` and `CompletePayment` carry net amount, currency and booking number; no personal customer data. The pixel only loads after marketing consent in the cookie banner; the marketing option only appears with an active tracking integration; withdrawal stops further anny events.
>
> **Server-side offline conversions:** Only when the person came via a TikTok click parameter (`ttclid`). Attribution window 14 days, independently of cookie consent (only a technically necessary visit key). Click parameters win against pure UTM parameters on return. Orders, subscriptions and booking packages are reported as `CompletePayment` with net amount and currency. Transferred are Pixel ID, event name, event identifier, timestamp, click ID, amount, currency; no customer data. On server error/rate limit up to 3 retries; on content rejection (e.g. invalid access token) no retry.
>
> **Relationships:** Feature gating via **Conversion Tracking**, together with Google Ads, Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads. One shared marketing consent for all platforms. Related article: utm-tracking. In the widget no pixel loads (no cookie banner); events go to the surrounding website (tag manager), the Offline conversion API works there. Per account only one pixel configuration is stored; with several integrations the most recently activated applies. On pages with several organizations, anny loads each pixel separately.
