# Payment & Subscription Management

> Manage your subscriptions, store payment methods, and keep an eye on open balances.

In this area, you manage everything around your subscriptions and payment methods as an end user: subscribe, cancel, upgrade/downgrade, and update your credit card or SEPA details.

## Subscribe

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the booking page">
    Open the booking page of the organization where you want to subscribe.

  <Step title="Select a subscription">
    Navigate to **Subscriptions** and select the right subscription with **Start now**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm your details">
    Confirm your subscription in the pop-up, enter your personal details, and choose a payment method.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Book with payment">
    Click **Book with payment** to activate the subscription.

## Cancel a subscription

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Subscriptions">
    In your profile, go to **Subscriptions** and select the **Active** tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Cancel">
    Click the three dots next to the subscription and choose **Cancel**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Confirm the cancellation in the pop-up. The subscription continues until the end of the paid period.

## Upgrade or downgrade a subscription

Open **Subscriptions** and click the three dots of the active subscription, then **Manage plan**.

| Action    | When active?                     | Billing                                        |
| --------- | -------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| Upgrade   | Immediately                      | Only the difference to the new plan is charged |
| Downgrade | At the end of the current period | No settlement, new price from the next period  |

<Tip>
  An upgrade pays off immediately, since you only pay the prorated difference. A downgrade only takes effect with the next billing period.

## Store a payment method

You can manage payment methods in two places:

**In your profile (for all future subscriptions and invoices):**

    Via your **Avatar** (top right), navigate to **Profile** and then to **Payment Methods**.

  <Step title="Add a method">
    Click **Add payment method** and choose between credit card or SEPA direct debit.

**Per subscription (for a specific subscription):**

    Go to **Subscriptions** and click the three dots of the active subscription.

  <Step title="Update the payment method">
    Choose **Update payment method** and enter the new card or SEPA details.
  </Step>

## Change the payment method per invoice

For individual invoices, you can also adjust the payment method individually. To do this, open the respective invoice and change the stored method right there.

## Subscription overview

Under **Subscriptions** in your profile, you see all your subscriptions in three categories:

* **Active:** Running subscriptions with current conditions
* **Inactive:** Cancelled or expired subscriptions
* **Requested:** Subscriptions waiting for confirmation by the provider

## Booking quotas

If your subscription includes booking quotas, you see the current balance on the **Home page** of your booking page. Quotas can be amounts (for example 10 bookings), time budgets (for example 20 hours), or monetary amounts.

## Open balances

If you have open invoices, they are shown on the **Home page** under **Open balances**. Pay open amounts to keep your ability to book.

    With an upgrade, you get immediate access to the extended features, so the difference is billed right away. A downgrade only takes effect at the end of the period, so you can fully use the paid time frame.

    Yes, both in your profile (applies to all future payments) and per subscription via the three dots > Update payment method.

  <Accordion title="My subscription was set up for me. How do I store my payment method?">
    Open Subscriptions, click the three dots of the active subscription, and choose **Update payment method**.

  <Accordion title="Where do I see my remaining quotas?">
    On the Home page of your booking page. Quotas are shown there if your subscription includes any.

  <Accordion title="My subscription downgrade is not active immediately">
    This is expected behavior. A downgrade only takes effect at the end of the current subscription period, so you can fully use the paid time frame.

  <Accordion title="My payment fails">
    Check whether your credit card is still valid and has sufficient funds. For SEPA, make sure the direct debit mandate was granted correctly. Update your payment method in your profile if needed.

  <Accordion title="I do not see my subscription under Active">
    Your subscription may still be waiting for confirmation by the provider. Check the "Requested" tab. If it does not appear there either, contact the provider.

> * Cancellation: subscription continues until the end of the paid period

> * Payment method can be changed per subscription OR globally in the profile
> * Booking quotas: shown on the Home page, types: amount, time, monetary amount
> * Open balances: shown on the Home page
> * Subscription request: with some providers, the subscription must be confirmed manually
